A group started prototyping a manipulator for us to pass through defenses such as the Portcullis, Drawbridge, and Cheval de Frise. Chase created a prototype using Tetrix pieces. We also started CAD designs.
'SnowProblem's "Robot in 3 Days" group temporarily donated a couple of field elements to us for practice. We had the Cheval de Frise to work with yesterday. Having it at the school helped us eliminate potential drive train and manipulator designs.
So far, for our drive train, we are deciding between a Rover and Monster Truck design. The Rover design would have eight wheels, whereas the Monster Truck would have only four, and they would be significantly bigger.
Issues regarding budget were discussed, as well as potential fundraising opportunities, such as restaurant nights and the like.
We and the rest of the Southwest Hub are hosting a Week Zero tournament on Sunday, February 21. If you and your team would like to sign up, the link to the form is here.
